Nigerian Government and the Radical Islamic Sect, Boko Haram have agreed a ceasefire.
Alex Badeh, the Nigerian chief of defence staff who announced the truce today said that the Principal Private Secretary to President Goodluck Jonathan, Ambassador Hassan Tukur, met with Chadian Government officials as well as representatives of the Boko Haram in N’Djamena, Chad on Friday.
According to Alex Badeh, securing the release of the 219 Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram was a major part of the discussions.
Danladi Ahmadu who represented Boko Haram at the meeting said the girls are in good condition and unharmed.
